Life is a journey marked by various seasons, each bringing its own rhythm and lessons. Evidence of this is all around us. Day and night. Planting and harvest. The vibrant growth of spring to the restful quiet of winter. Seeing and understanding these natural cycles can profoundly impact our holistic health.
Recognizing the season we’re in can help us not only navigate life’s transitions with greater focus and balance, but also identify what we need holistically and facilitate the transformation process to bring renewal and results.
Here are the first two seasons and health perspectives. See where you find yourself!
Spring—Renewal and Growth
This is a fresh start and a time for new opportunities. This brings freshness, new beginnings, new opportunities, growth and hope for different results!
The excitement of newness brings more confidence and motivation to try again and move forward in places you’ve felt stuck in your health, facing roadblocks and even being let down by health systems.
Health Focus:
Discovery –This is a time of learning and exploring new ways. Your actions and intentions during this season can help shape future possibilities and results. You’re on a new health journey, looking for different results.
- Physically
- Learn and try new things for your health – research, experiment, gather personal data (labs, measurements, etc.)
- Find a coach, new practitioner(s)
- Get some fresh air and enjoy the beauty with outdoor activities and be invigorated with enjoyable movement and activity- maybe some new types
- Eat fresh, nutrient dense foods to rejuvenate your body
- Replenish low nutrient stores with appropriate supplements
- Emotionally
- Develop your vision and motivation– write it down, revise, expand, etc.
- Set new goals and intentions
- Engage in activities that spark creativity and optimism
- Spiritually
- Be renewed and established in the foundations of your faith
- Reflect and focus on the Promise of renewal and restoration
Summer — Vitality and Expansion
Keep going! It’s working. Don’t quit.
Here, you’ve experienced a measure of success. You’re seeing what works and the hope of how changes in your body can actually happen. Some of the initial excitement and motivation have worn off, and you realize that this really is a journey and a lifestyle happening on many levels of who you are. You’re learning, growing and beginning to experience how integrating physical, emotional, and spiritual pieces bring results and wholeness. It’s tempting to go back, but you know you need to keep pressing forward and be faithful and consistent.
Health Focus:
Maintain – This is a time to enjoy your progress. Continue growing and walking out the lifestyle habits and practices you’ve established.

- Continue your nutrient dense, balanced nutrition plan
- Maintain an active lifestyle – continue building and maintaining muscle
- Stay hydrated
- Get good sleep
- Emotionally
- Celebrate successes
- Deepen relationships and invest in people
- Continue to expand and grow in business, creativity, hobbies, etc.
- Spiritually
- Enjoy the gifts and blessings of this season – people, opportunities, health
- Let your faith roots, experiences, and intimacy go deep
- Grow in your life’s purpose
